A team is group of players that associate themselves in a group under a single brand or flag and earn points that are tracked individually and contribute to the team total. In this proposed poker league system the teams earn point depending on their players performance or rank in tournaments recognized by the league.

Team Pennants

A team pennant is a graphic provided by the team captain that will be the visual brand of the players in the team. This helps to indentify players during games and tournaments.
For example, if your team is called the Green Ninjas, you could have a green ninja star on your pennant. Or is your team is the Fat Elvises, you could have a pork chop to indentify your team.
In addition to graphically identify your players, when you click on a pennant you will get a popup that shows:
* Name of team
* Rank of player in team
* Individual player points
* Total team points
Team Points
There are three basic philosophies:
* The bigger the tournament -- more points
* The larger the prize - more points
* More points for real over play
Play money team score is calculated via the following formula:
* Number of players in tourney times prize in play money / 1000
* For example, if a player wins second place in a tourney with 20 people where the buy-in was 100 play money dollars, then the formula is (20*((20*100)*30%))/1000 = 12 points
Real money team score is calculated via the following formula:
* Number of players in tourney times prize in real money / 10
* For example, if a player wins second place in a tourney with 20 people where the buy-in was 10 real money dollars, then the formula is (20*((20*10)*30%))/10 = 120 points
League Standings
League standings can be calculated in the following ways:
* Raw team rank list
* Rank by total points in team
* Per player team rank list
* Rank by total points in team / num players
* Player rank list
* Rank of player points
Points Updating
Points for individual players are updated every time a tournament ends. Pennant popup information is updated every time a player sits in a new seat. Information on the team interface is updated every time the user opens the dialog.
Points for all team in the league are exported to an XML file available on the league site every (TBA) hours. The league site and each team site may fetch and use that data in the XML file to maintain there own ranks or lists in whatever format they wish.
Team Lounges (future feature still in design)
Each member in a team be able to see a extra lounge room in the room board. This team lounge can only be seen by members of its corresponding team and therefore only entered by its members. The team Lounge is essentially a chat room where players can discuss team strategy, tactics, poker knowledge, socialize and organize events.
Team Challenges (future feature still in design)
A team captain or officer can click on a player of another team and challenge them to a team sit-n-go. The tourney starts as soon as it fills up. The challenger decides the type and reward of the tourney. The reward gets removed from the losing team's players and added to the winning team.
Some examples of potential challenges are:
* 2 players - you vs me for x points
* 6 players - me and 2 others vs 3 of your players for x points
* 10 players - 5 vs 5 and so on...
